Howdy!
I’m Spencer Howland, a writer and designer based in Chicago’s Roscoe Village. I love helping small businesses to find their written voice, and founded Grown Creative when my side jobs turned into a full-time career. Since its inception, I’ve created media kits, pitch decks, websites & website content, advertorials, logos, and anything else my clients have needed to get their messages to the masses.
After years of working as a high school teacher/coach, I realized that I enjoyed exploring & creating content quite a bit more than selling the idea of reading & writing to teenagers. A chance encounter with a fellow Northwestern alum turned into a bundled contract of writing projects, and the rest is history!
When I’m not working at my computer, I’m likely sketching, cooking, biking, reading comics, doing handiwork around the house, or watching movies with my wife and our wiener dog Carter.
